FAMOUS FOOD COLUMNISTS (and writers online)

  • John Ash
Takes one to know one? Maybe not, but John Ash began as a chef
and you can tell when you read him. He's not a columnist per se,
but we felt we had to list some of John's articles here, both his
food articles and what can be found up on his site about wine
which includes: history of winecollecting and storing  (the cellar),
serving wine with seafood, and serving wine  (temperature, breathing,
etc.). See our own pages on wine sites and wine journals and magazines
  • Heston Blumenthal
Here's another chef who like to write, and whose columns appear in the UK's
Guardian. He doesn't review restaurants, a la Ms. Wells but writes about food
preparation (our favorite study) and gives tips on how to improve foods and
recipes. Here's two of our favorite articles:

The Proof of the Pudding   - Guardian Unlimited (12/08/01) Pineapple
Absorbing Experience  - Guardian Unlimited (01.12.02)  Risotto

  • Patricia Wells
If she's not your favorite food columnist, she should be. Can't think of anyone
who has demonstrated more thoroughly that they know what they are
talking about than Ms. Wells. Please check out her articles and her web site.
